Steve - I just had the Antilock Braking System fail in my 2010 Prius. Apparently this is a problem Toyota knew about and did extend the warrant to 10 years or 150,000 miles whichever comes 1st.
i have just recently bought a used prius 2010 with about 130,000 km mileage. i wanted to know roughly after how long would i need to change the hybrid battery or how long will it last roughly. do i need to change the whole battery or the individual cells to make it new again. thanks
The average Prius battery life is around 10 years or 150,000 miles, although this can completely depend on how you use your hybrid car. Some Prius owners have managed to get 200,000 miles from their battery, so keep this in mind when comparing hybrids.
The Prius charging system will put out 14.6 volts and more. An AGM battery dependent on manufacturer has typically a fully charged voltage of 14.1 volts to 14.2 volts but can be as high as 14.7 volts. There is nothing special about a plug in charger compared to the Prius charging system.
2023. Plug-in XW60. The Toyota Prius ( / ˈpriːəs / PREE-əss) ( Japanese: トヨタ・プリウス, Hepburn: Toyota Puriusu) is a compact / small family liftback ( supermini / subcompact sedan until 2003) produced by Toyota. The Prius has a hybrid drivetrain, combined with an internal combustion engine and an electric motor.
The vehicle’s battery could be overcharging or unable to hold a charge. 3. The battery’s not holding a charge. When you park your car overnight and leave it charged only to return in the morning to a low battery, it’s a definite sign your hybrid vehicle’s battery needs diagnostic attention. 4.
In fact, the Honda Civic Hybrid gets about 44 miles per gallon. Unfortunately, hybrid car batteries don’t last forever. Most hybrid vehicles will either need to get a new battery or get repaired within six to 10 years of their original purchase. Worst of all, hybrid battery repair can cost up to $4,000 on average.
About how long does the high voltage battery last? I’m use my car mostly on local roads so the electrons are being used as designed. So your 2013 Prius C hybrid
The Dr Prius app showed the below battery reading, which looks like module 4 is bad to me. The Torque (lite) app gave me the P0a80 code that I already knew about, as well as P3014 which seems to just more specifically say that module 4 is bad vs P0a80 that more generally says the hybrid battery is having problems.
