Every class in Guild Wars 2 has access to a variety of area-of-effect skills, allowing them to become powerful AoE-centric classes. They have a lot going for them, whether they are using it to support the team with useful AoE healing, buffs, or utilities, or using it to wreak havoc through sheer force and damage.

Guild Wars 2 is not like that. In GW2 there's no inherent stat you should always stack for your particular class, every stat is beneficial in some way. This means, that you can build a tanky and defensive anything more or less, or focus on condition damage or just forgo all defenses and become a full-on glass cannon.
